The properties of Niactil Advanced Pro
The product contains concentrated ingredients suitable for most skin types. Its effects are gentle, yet active – and in turn, it strengthens, repairs, adds moisture and removes dead skin cells.
Niactil Advanced Pro is a tube cream/gel that can be used as a serum or by itself as a cream. Ingredients include 4% niacinamide and 10% polyhydroxy acid (PHA), both of which improve the overall skin condition without causing skin irritation. It should be combined with the other products in the skincare series. However, if this is the first time you use Elixir, begin by simply testing the product.
It is advised to use the product in combination with other Elixir products to generate a strong synergistic effect between the different ingredients.
For young skin, it can suffice to only use it as a cream in the morning or at night. However, it should be combined with the Niactil 4% or the Hydractil lite to increase moisture levels.
Conversely, adult skin needs more anti-aging ingredients, and therefore should be combined with Retinext products, sun protection, and Hydractil products for sufficient treatment.
What are the active ingredients?
Polyhydroxy acids (PHA) are often referred to as the next generation of alpha hydroxy acids but are softer on the skin. PHAs have antioxidant effects, and gently remove dead skin cells while simultaneously increasing moisture levels.
There are several PHAs, but the most common types are gluconolactone and lactobionic acid. Gluconolactone is the ingredient used in Niactil Advanced Pro due to its multi-tasking properties.
Niacinamide is a well-documented, water-soluble Vitamin B3 that is vital for the cells’ functions, including its ability to help maintain a satisfactory level of energy delivered to the cells. With age, the levels of Vitamin B3 lessen, and the cells’ ability to repair and renew themselves start to deteriorate. In particular, niacinamide is used to strengthen the skin barrier, reduce redness, and help maintain a healthier and “fresher” skin.
What are its effects?
Improved skin barrier function
Strengthens the skin surface, which proves particularly suitable for those with sensitive skin and therefore cannot tolerate glycolic acid and other more active products.
Pigmentation spots
It reduces hyperpigmentation by 10-30% after 12 weeks, depending on the skin type. It also improves the texture and tone of the skin by 30%.
Smoother skin
Smoother and softer skin – improved by 30-60% after 12 weeks.
Acne treatment
10-14% PHA is as effective as 5% benzoyl peroxide but with fewer side effects. It can be used along with tretinoin and other retinol/retinal products. Compared to glycolic acid, there’s less risk associated with inflammatory acne.
Wrinkle treatment
Reduces wrinkles and fine lines after 12 weeks.
Increased skin thickness
Promotes the formation of lipids and collagen which strengthens the skin’s barrier function.
Oily skin
Reduces fat secretion from the sebaceous glands.
Improved skin elasticity
Improves the skin’s elasticity by 10,2% after 12 weeks.
Antioxidant
Antioxidants inhibit oxidation, as well as oxidation-promoting metals. It also reduces the production of free radicals.
UV-rays
As opposed to glycolic acid, it does not promote the skin’s sensitivity to UV-rays.
