Are you using the correct cleanser?

The first step towards improving your skin health is by finding the right cleanser for your skin condition.

The first step towards improving your skin health is by finding the right cleanser for your skin condition. A facial cleanser is used to remove make-up, dead skin cells, oil, and dirt. A cleanser also helps your other skincare products penetrate properly into the skin. For those with an oily skin and acne, and for those with a lot of makeup, a double cleanser may be necessary.

Using the right facial cleanser daily can have great benefits for your appearance and skin health. Our skin continuously changes depending on weather, age, and health. It is therefore important to always keep in mind that you must choose a cleanser suitable for your current skin condition.

Find a cleanser suitable for you.

Our wide selection of cleansers are suitable for various skin challenges and skin conditions, making them the perfect base for either a basic or an advanced skincare routine:

Cleanser suitable for dry and sensitive:
Hydractil Gentle Cleanser is our mildest cleanser and remove makeup, impurities, and excess sebum. It contains calming ingredients, that remove dead skin cells and fats without dehydrating the skin. In addition, it also has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, making it at perfect match for a sensitive, dry or dehydrated skin condition.

Cleanser suitable for dry, normal and combination skin:
Niactil Cleanser is a light and frothy cleanser that gently and efficiently removes makeup, impurities, and excess sebum, and is therefore excellent for a combination skin. Formulated with lower concentrations of glycolic acid and salicylic acid. It thoroughly cleanses and soothes the skin. It also helps reveal a clean and smooth skin tone while avoiding dehydration.

Cleanser suitable for combination and impure skin
Acticlear Cleanser provide an active cleanse that gently removes dirt, impurities, and dead skin cells. In addition, it also has peeling properties. The cleanser dissolves fats and unclogs pores since it contains 3 % mild mandelic acid and 5 % PHA-acid, that regulate sebum, reduce inflammation, and are antibacterial, making the cleanser excellent for a combination, oily and impure skin. For skin sensitive to higher concentrations of glycolic acid, it can replace Glyactil Pads and Acticlear Pads as your weekly peeling product. If so, combine with Hydractil Gentle Cleanser or Niactil Cleanser. Should not be used around the eye area.

Cleanser suitable for oily, impure, and inflamed skin
Sulfactil Cleanser is an active cleanser that is both purifying and antibacterial, our “problem solver”. The active ingredients have healing properties that reduce inflammation, excess sebum production, and impurities. The cleanser is particularly well suited for acne, rosacea, seborrheic eczema, and most oily skin conditions, as it inhibits growth of bacteria. We often recommend combining Sulfactil Cleanser with a milder cleanser, Hydractil Gentle Cleanser or Niactil Cleanser, as the skin may become dehydrated when used by itself. Sulfcatil Cleanser should not be used around the eye area.

How to double-cleanse according to your skin type!
Double cleansing can easily be described as a passing trend, but for several skin conditions and skin types, a double cleansing routine can be the key to skin improvement.

If necessary, the same cleanser can of course be used twice, but practicing double cleansing does not necessarily mean repeating the same cleansing routine. It is quite often that the cleansing consists of two different types in order to achieve a deeper cleanse. It is common to combine a milder cleans with a more active one, which often contains acids and active ingredients that reduce bacteria, sebum and dead skin cells.

Double cleansing can therefore have 2 meanings:

  1. The skin is cleaned twice with the same cleansing product
  2. The skin is cleansed with two different cleansing products, which are either used after cleansing or combined with a less active

How to combine the different cleaning products?
Hydractil Gentle Cleanser and Niactil Cleanser are gentle cleansers and are used as a general cleanser that removes make-up, dirt and excess sebum. Both can be used in a “double cleansing” routine, and can be used repeatedly or in combination with a active cleansing product.

Acticlear Foam Cleanser and Sulfactil Cleanser are what we describe as “active” cleansers, and can be used alone but are often combined with a gentler cleanser in a skin routine.
